How medical weight management virtual care works

  • 1. Schedule your first appointment

If you’ve been told by a doctor that weight loss would improve your health or if you have concerns about your weight, we’re here to help you succeed. We may ask some questions about your health as part of the scheduling process. Answer these questions, then select an available appointment time. That’s it!

  • 2. Log on at your appointment time

Open MyChart or the My Rush app. You will get a prompt that your provider is ready to connect. Join the video chat on your smartphone or tablet.

  • 3. Receive a care plan

Our Rush experts will work with you to write a personalized care plan. This includes a lot of information gathering about you and your body. We work with weight loss patients every day, so we know what to expect and how to help. We can also connect you with any follow-up care you may need, including talking to a dietitian or psychologist.

  • 4. Support along the way

Once you have your care plan, we’re by your side. Whether it’s through virtual follow-up appointments with our experts, in-person care or something else, we work with you to help you achieve your weight loss goals. Many patients have multiple virtual visits as part of their care plan. Our job is to give you the tools you need to succeed.

FAQs

Can I get a GLP-1 injection through this service?

Weight loss medications, including semaglutide and tirzepatide medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound and Mounjaro, may be part of your plan, though we do not prescribe medications on the first visit. If they’re right for you, they can be an important tool for losing weight and keeping it off. We work with our patients to understand their goals — and make sure they know the risks and benefits of GLP-1 medications before starting.
